Crime Files: Nelly's Bodyguard Was Found Murdered
Nelly's bodyguard was found murdered near his home and this is what reports are saying:
"A murder investigation is hitting close to home for St. Louis rap star, Nelly. Multiple sources close to Nelly tell FOX 2 news the victim was one of Nelly's bodyguards. The victim is 36 year old Michale Johnson sources describe him as Nelly's left hand man, or someone who was by the rapper's side providing security. St. Louis county police responded to a home on Nola, near north Hanley Wednesday night just before midnight. Johnson was shot several times. Police say he was either walking in or walking out of the home when someone opened fire. They're not sure if Johnson was targeted or if he interrupted a burglar who then shot him. Police say they are retracing the victim's steps from the previous 24 hours to try and find out where he was, and what a possible motive might be. No one has been arrested at this point. Thursday afternoon Nelly didn't want to talk about Johnson's murder. The rap start was busy giving out scholarships at Lindenwood University. Two high school students received full tuition scholarships. This is the second year Nelly has made such a donation to the school."

Monica Talks Tiny and T.I., Chad Ochocinco and The Break-Up With Rocko
Monica shows us the strongest know how to survive, even through the toughest of times. The Diva chatted it up with HoneyMag on everything from her new album, to her video with Chad Ochocinco, her friendship with Tiny and how prayer helped her survive the break-up with Rocko. Check out a few interesting excerpts from the interview.
What kind of friend is Tiny? The best way to describe her is real no matter what the circumstances are. [That’s] one thing that Tameka and I share in common—she never changes. And she just has this way of showing you unconditional love no matter what’s taking place. When you’re down and out, when you’ve done something wrong, she won’t condemn you or judge you. She’ll just be there for you. And she’s not afraid to stick her neck out on the line for a friend or a love one.
A lot of people are surprised that T.I and Tiny have been together so long. Are they a perfect fit for each other? I think she’s the perfect person for T.I.P. because he’s going to need somebody that is supportive. Somebody that will not turn their back regardless if he’s still the hottest rapper ever or if he just wants to be Clifford Harris at home with the kids. I think people get too caught up on the superficial things and all this other stuff and they don’t see the person. I think she is one of the absolute best people that you will ever meet.

There were so many people that doubted your new album Still Standing. Were you surprised on the success of the album? You know I was surprised because I was not thinking about I want to come out and sell a certain amount of records. I just wanted to make a solid album for a group of people that had always been there and supported my music. And I wanted to go back to the way I recorded the first album which was make an album that felt good—that was not about the politics or anything other than the music.
Why did you choose the title Still Standing? In this day in age people get to consumed with what they don’t have and forget to be appreciative of what they do have, who wasn’t there instead of who was there. What they have not been able to accomplish instead of what they have accomplished. Still standing was my personal testament to say you can make it through anything if you truly believe. And that’s just something I wanted any girl that has come up with nothing like myself—[anyone who] has come from a place where people aren’t expected to make it. I wanted people to have that feeling –especially women. So still standing was just to say don’t give up. Stand on your own two feet and don’t allow life to take you off your feet.

The video for “Everything To Me” also starred Chad Ochocinco. What made you choose him for the video? There is this agency called Tough Love. They were working with him already. And they were saying he reminds me of you because he treats people a certain way. He never acts like he’s better than anyone else. And they were absolutely right. When he came on set he spoke to everybody on set down to the cameraman.
You two had so much chemistry. Is there anything going on between you? He’s out on the circuit and I’m just not ready to date yet. He actually has a reality show where he’s trying to find love. We are not dating. I’m not ready. I can’t imagine a movie, date or dinner. I just can’t see it.

That is understandable. You recently broke up with your fiancĂ© of ten years. Do you think you will date again? When you spend almost a decade with one person its kind of hard to get your heart back opened up that particular way. But maybe when that time comes, I don’t know who the person would be that I would date at that time. But I’m not against any type of person or profession.
How is your current relationship with your former fiancĂ© Rodney “Rocko” Hill? For years we were together. And we have a great friendship now. People sometimes assume that when you decide not to be in a relationship anymore you have to have all these weird frustrating moments and negative energy amongst the two. We are not like that because we purposely had our children. They were conceived in love and they are not going to be brought up in anything besides that as well. Its shocking for people to hear how close we are as friends now.

Splitsville: Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry Are OVER
This kind of new on a Friday just really blows. Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry are officially over. Sources say, "Gabriel just felt it wasn't working anymore," the source says. "When they were first together the 9-year age difference between them didn't phase him, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever dated and he was totally in love, but as time went on he started feeling it more and more. Gabriel started noticing other women, and being attracted to other, and he felt it just wasn't right to stay with Halle in those circumstances."

Wow, the age difference was the breaking factor. I'm not convinced that this is the only reason or the real reason for the split.
Right now they are in the process of negotiating the financial and custody of Nahla and trying to hash out some kind of agreement.
Folks, this is why the single life is looking like the best way to go.
More later, as this story is still breaking and I've yet to have a single drop of coffee..
Update 11:20am-TMZ has learned that Halle and Gabriel have agreed to several short-term custody arrangements while they sort things out. They have renewed them each time they have expired and are still working under a short-term agreement but no permanent agreement has been struck.
Halle consulted a divorce lawyer 3 weeks ago. Well, there you have it. Expect an Official statement soon. We know with all the Buzz, it's coming.
Stay tuned folks...

Diva Style: Solange Knowles Dares To Be Different
Solange Knowles has her own unique style that is very different from her big sister Beyonce and we kind of Love it. Last night she attended the DKMS' 4th Annual Gala: Linked Against Leukemia with a cute little dress on, showcasing her lovely legs and some fierce shoes. Even with the short hair-do, she dared to be different and it works for her. We are glad to see she has her own flair for fashion. Now we must admit that sometimes it works for her and sometimes it doesn't. In the case of last night, it definitely worked in her favor.

Matt Barnes Is Not A Fan of VH1's Basketball Wives

Matt Barnes is making his feelings perfectly clear on VH1's Basketball Wives. He even told his fiance Gloria he didn't think it was a good idea to get on the show. "I wasn’t 100% against it at the beginning. It started back in Phoenix when SHAUNIE O’NEAL approached my fiancee about it and I was really apprehensive about it. Then they kept approaching my fiancee about it back and forth back and forth and I was really against it but my fiancee talked to the producers and felt good about it so I definitely backed her.
But after watching the first show I was just disgusted. I told my team, because you know [my teammate] Dwight’s involved in that too, that I’m not watching that because I know it’s going to make me mad and I’m going to watch it at the end of the season. I just think that what they say is going to happen and what actually happens is two different things.
Reality TV is kind of a joke. Everything is scripted. There is nothing reality about Reality TV. With that said, I’ll kind of leave it at that but if you want to have me back on at the end of the season when I won’t get fined for what I say, I’ll definitely tell you what I think about that."
Yeah, there is so much drama and cattiness going and even if he is genuine, it surly isn't portrayed on the show. Now watch the groupies come out and go in on him for saying he doesn't cheat in 5,4,3,2...
Watch the other ladies look less than convinced that he is on the up and up.

President Barack Obama Breaks Down During Dorothy Height's Funeral

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama attended the funeral of Dorothy Height along with Vice President Joe Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and others. The President called Dorothy Height a history-making figure in the civil rights movement whose quiet perseverance produced gains in "a righteous cause."
"She never cared about who got the credit," the president said. "What she cared about was the cause. The cause of justice, the cause of equality, the cause of opportunity, freedom's cause."
He even became very emotional, bowing his head and shed a few tears.

Pop The Top For More...
She wouldn't allow "just a bunch of men" to control the meeting, Obama said. When Height's attendance became impossible because cars could not reach her snow-choked driveway, he said, she still sent a message with her ideas.
Noting Height's trademark attire, Obama said, "we loved those hats she wore like a crown. Regal."
He cited her role in desegregating the YWCA and in leading the National Council of Negro Women with "vision and energy, vision and class." He said her name should be associated with great leaders such as King and W.E.B. DuBois.
"She too deserves a place in our history books," Obama said. "She too deserves a place of honor in America's memory."
